Safety First
With only eleven weeks remaining untill our trip we wish to remind our members to be sure and upgrade their personal flotation devices. The Life preservers that are provided by the resort are the minium requirements by law. Do you wish to trust your like with the government's MINIMUM requirements? There are many different styles and grades of flotation devices out now and everyone should own one. Don't accept the resort's minimum effort, purchase yourself a vest that you can bet your life on. We have forund that G.I. Joes' is selling the inflatable suspender type for about $79.00. This is something that will not restrict your movements and will most likely be worn most of the time unnoticed. They also sell a "fanny pack" style that inflates. This system requires you to be able to put your head through a slot in the bladder once inflated. These retail for about $59.00. There are also many non-inflatable vest type from about $10.00 and up. Remember, if it is not comfortable you will not wear it as much as you should(all the time). Look at it like your car's seat belt, it takes some time but now it doesn't feel right without it on! |

AAC Well it looks like it paid off. Tell us about that day on the lake that changed your life.
Al Well that may take some time, but here goes. Steve and I deceided to go fishing and we didn't feel like starting the motor. It was agreed that we would just tie to the end of the dock for our day on the lake. With three cases of beer and some natchos on board we were set. Our local buddy Chad walked out the dock and began to make with some casual conversation while admiring our stash of Schmidt Ice............
AAC no, no, not that story, the one about your Big Meat of 1999!
Al Oh that fish story, lets see, It was early in the week and I made my mind up to make my move for the fish of the week. With my trusty net boy and brother Gary in tow we made for our glory hole. The weather had just settled down and I felt we had a good chance of scoring a big fish today. I chose to use a Black Wooley Buggar. As I carefully attached it to my leader and trim the tag end I knew somethng (continued on page 4) |
